Utilize a device that over 80% of people carry in their pockets – get started with SMS marketing.
Fused Interactive had the opportunity to help Franklin Food Market of Sioux Falls utilize a device that over 80% of the U.S. population carry in their pockets.
A study performed by the journal Personal and Ubiquitous Computing showed that, on average, cell phone users check their phones 34 times per day. A separate study by Nokia found that the average response time to a text message is 7 minutes (and as quick as 43 seconds).
Based on those figures, text message or SMS marketing is one of the most responsive forms of communication. It is easy for users to opt in to receive messages. They simply send a word, like “Franklin”, to an exclusive phone number. Our SMS system then stores their phone number in a customer database on your website.
This opt in process is referred to as permission marketing. You tell consumers what type information you will deliver, and through what medium, and they opt in to receive it. Your job is to stay true to the exact conditions of this agreement, or you’ll risk losing the consumer’s attention and trust. Seth Godin, a well known author and marketer, says “Permission marketing is the privilege (not the right) of delivering anticipated, personal and relevant messages to people who actually want to get them.” Read more about this topic on his blog.
